I'd like take the boat from Osaka to Shanghai this summer.
Is there anyone out there who has taken it and can give me
some details or advice? Thanks in advance!

Five days ago! China-Japan Ferries (or something close to
that - CHINJIF). OSaka -> shanghai one week (Tuesday), Kobe
to Shanghai the next. 20,000 yen (approx $300 AUSD) -
flying costs about 43,000 yen, 50 hours. Very comfortable -
dorm bed in 8 bed dorms, food was Ok and relatively cheap
(for Japan - not china), free green tea and hot water
(bring some pot noodles), free laundry, many Tvs (sometimes
projecting English - never did work out how to do it
myself), only about 30 people on the boat (obviously much
busier at other times of year). Karaoke and ping pong/table
tennis (300yen for 6 hours, or so they told us!!! we
decided we couldn't face table tennis for 6 hours!). Also
vending machines (beer, drinkgs, noodles etc). email me any
    other questions you have.
