Is there an inexpensive or moderately priced r/t cruise
from Vancouver? I've investigated BC Ferries. Pay double
for the r/t by way of Vancouver Island and an overnight in
Prince Rupert. Any other Ferry service available or is
$550Canadian for two a fair price? Thanks in advance.

The price may or may not be fair, but you probably don't
have a lot of options in carriers.
Does the price you quoted include carrying your car
onboard? As fares have increased on B.C. Ferries, British
Columbians choose more and more to walk, cycle, or travel
by bus at either side of your trip. Bus companies offer
transportation from city to city including the ferry, and
most will carry passengers' bicycles. Check out Pacific
Coach Lines at (604) 662-8074.......I'm not sure if they go
where you want to go, but they will certainly point you in
the right direction.
Have fun!
Car will be $350 extra for r/t.
I don't quite understand it. They provide terminal parking
yet the ferry service is geared for one way travel.
The fare ($550) is for 2 people. Includes ferry from
Vancouver to Vancouver Is. Bus to Port Hardy, cruise Inside
Passage, overnight on ship cabin in Prince Rupert and
return to P. Hardy via IP again. Will have to make separate
arrangement to return to Vancouver.
Is there not a better way?
Is B.C. Ferry the only service to IP besides the luxury
cruise ships?
glizty cruise ships leave Vancouver almost every day to
Alaska during May to Sept...very expensive though.
Alaska Marine Highway (American ferry system) leaves
Bellingham Washington to Alaska a couple of times a week
in summer. search the web "ALASKA MARINE HIGHWAY" for info.
taking a vehicle on ferries is very expensive

Hey Alan, it's me again.
Yeah, B.C. Ferries confound a lot of us, but with
the exception of the "love boat"", they really are the only
game in town.
We just don't have the population & traffic to support
other options.
You could get off the boat in Prince Rupert and travel by
road back to Vancouver, but it would be a big job of
driving.
What about flying? Port Hardy to Vancouver could be a
lovely trip. Try Air B.C.(604)688-5515. If
they don't fly that route, they will know who does.
One tip for saving a bit of money is not to pay B.C.
Ferries to park your car at the terminal.
If we drive, most of us park on the roads outside of the
terminals and walk to the ferry.
I hope this helps!
I paid 330$ US to sleep on the deck of the ferry leaving
from Anchorage to Victoria!
