  1. Free Accommodation in Tofino Added by: SkinFlint

Go to Long Beach and find a secluded spot on or near the
beach in the woods to put your bag down. Look out for park
wardens, rats, pests and rain. If its raining, try the
garbage dumpster behind the Wickininish Inn; it has a lid.
    Good Luck and happy travels.

    Hi there
You can camp at Rainbow Beach which is super beautiful or
around Tonquin Beach, there are some areas. Lots of people
camp out in the forest but make sure you clean up after
    yourself!! Tofino is amazing!!!

Gross. I hope you are waterproof. It poured rain while I
was there - we slept in the car. What a fabulous place.

Yes, we here in BC have embraced our new resource-based-
economy of tourism with open arms and open wallets. Doing
anything anywhere costs money now. Not to say that it's
that much more than anywhere else, but it used to be really
cheap here, because we BC'ers were pretty much the only ones
    in our wild areas.
Good luck finding anything free in Tofino. I once camped in
the forest just by the open ocean near Schooner Cove (a
section of Long Beach), which was closed to visitors at the
time. I did this to avoid being seen, and plus all the
other campsites were full or cost more than I felt I should
be spending for the services they provided. It was
beautiful. The only problem was that many other people had
also done this before me and there was noticeable trash
lying around. So I "paid" for my illegal use of my park by
picking up all the trash in the area and making it look as
natural as I could. Now if we ALL took this attitude we
wouldn't be confined to campsites, would we? So if you camp
illegally, do as I did: pack out more than you packed in.
    Consider it a camping fee.
If you don't need to be by the ocean there are logging roads
on the highway before you reach the Ucluelet-Tofino tee
junction. Just choose one, find an old spur into the
forest, and set up your environmentally conscious camp. I
don't know if this is legal, but if you don't litter or
    wreck vegetation, who cares.
