[Timestamp: Fri 26 March, 13:00 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Well, let's see - I had a steak, baked potatoe and salad but
it really wasn't a typical meal. I would suggest checking
out the cuisine from each individual place: My favourites
include chowder/seafood in the Maritime provinces, and fresh
fruit products in British Columbia. Basically you can get
everything in Canada - very diverse. Hope this helps.

  7. Supper Added by: Damia
[Timestamp: Fri 26 March, 13:38 Tasmanian Standard Time]

For supper tonight I had 1 steamed chicken leg with veggies
& pasta. (All done in one pot- it's really good!), oh and a
glass of 1% milk. For those of you who don't have it (last
time I was in LA ('96) they only had 1% and skim at the
    Marriott.) It *does* exist.

I ate the right thigh from one of the human bodies in my
freezer, marinated in apricot sauce and served with fresh
garden vegetables. I have still not quite figured out
whether one should serve a red or white wine with human
    flesh. Any suggestions?

which is the greatest thing since the pop-up toaster.
Plus rice and a green bean/tomato veggie thingy. And the
strawberries are coming on strong. Got a half-flat yesterday
    and had some for dessert.

Yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Portobello mushroom
sandwich for lunch. Royal pad Thai for dinner, minus the
shrimp-I'm allergic to shellfish, which sucks because there
is a lot of it here(the Chesapeake Bay produces about
1/10th of the world's shellfish, it can be pretty hard to
    avoid it sometimes).

that's going to be enough for you?"
    Hey Sunny, why yuck?

  40. Creative Cooking B.C. Island style Added by: Christine (spirit1@connected.bc.ca)
[Timestamp: Tue 30 March, 16:06 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Great question. Dinner tonight was a salad with all sorts of
organic veggies with a homemade avacado balsamic
vinaigrette (made by the man of the house), and a tofu,
cashew, veggie ginger curry and whatever other spice I came
across, rice noodle dish (made by the woman of the house).
For dessert I just finished some home dehydrated (not
baked!) , fruit sweetened, wheat free grain cookies. A new
recipe and what a delight! We have a lot of fun with food,
mainly international creations such as stirfries, curry or
other spiced dishes, sushi, seafood, and funky pizzas.

  41. Midwestern Fare (US) Added by: GBD
[Timestamp: Wed 31 March, 14:04 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I'm actually in the process of eating a chicken/veggie
stirfry on a bed of white rice. I hate to admit it but
(gulp) I ate at McDonald's for lunch- a thoroughly
forgetable Big Mac value-meal. A yogurt, tangerine and
banana snack (not all mixed together) "balanced out" some of
the grease from Mickey D's. It's not as exotic as post
    #40... but I'm full:)

  42. Grub Added by: Karlo
[Timestamp: Wed 31 March, 14:47 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I had butter clams I dug on the low tide last week sauteed
with homegrown immigrant Thai garlic and butter, a green
salad with a fresh herb vinaigrette, a nice slab of venison
roast (deer are an introduced species here, so it's an
ecological duty to keep them shot back so they don't eat all
of the defenseless endemic greenery on the island), basmati
rice, and homemade bread slathered with equally homemade
blackberry jam, enhanced by a glass of Fetzer Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon, and a cup of Sumatran coffee to follow.

  43. Richmond B.C. (Vancouver) Added by: Gecko
[Timestamp: Wed 31 March, 18:56 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I had Cantonese chow mein (the real thing - I board with
a family from Hong Kong) with sardines and spinach, and a
glass of grape juice. It took me 2 years to get used to a
Chinese palate, but I love it, now! For your survey, you
should know that there are about 400,000 Chinese-Canadians
in Vancouver alone, so Chinese cuisine is a BIG player here
    - none of this egg-rolls/chicken balls stuff, but the real
    mccoy.
    Good luck!
    Joi-gin!

  50. The Best Hot Wings you'll ever have Added by: B
[Timestamp: Thu 8 April, 6:46 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Fresh, not ever frozen, chicken wings and drummetts. Bake
at 425F on a greased cookie sheet (One that does not allow
the wings or drummentts to sit in the juices) for 1 hour.
Mix 1 bottle of Red Hot (grocery store usually near A1 and
Tobasco) and 1/4 cup melted butter, let mixture sit for 20
minutes in fridge. Stay with me. After the wings have
been cooking for 1 hour pull the sheet out of the oven and
dip each wing or drummett in the sauce while they are still
very hot. It's best to use a fork. Let cool a little and
eat. These are guaranteed to be the best hot wings you
ever had. Not to hot, but just the right kick for anyone.
