If anyone has any questions about Montreal, just ask. I've
been living here for 20 years and would gladly help if I
know the answers.

  1. Love Mtl Added by: Lotta (chlotta@home.se)

Ok, I haven't been to Mtl for years now, but I keep on
wondering if the Foff.Electriques on Ste-Cathrinne is still
open? And how about L'aprΦs guΦrre? I am really curieuse
since I used to love those places.
By the way, I adore that town!

  2. une autre question Added by: marcos

Is the cafeteria at Eaton's still open to the public. Last
time I was in Montreal it didn't look like the store was
doing too well, but that dining room (not the food) was
fabulous. The ladies who lunch sitting in that 30s luxury
    liner -like space was great.

  3. After Montreal try Wakefield, Quebec Added by: Peter Bryan (oldpot@hotmail.com)

When you have finished seeing Montreal contact the
Moose Bus (www.moosetransportco.com) and ride their budget minibus via Ottawa to Carman Trails at Wakefield, Quebec. (www.magma.ca/~carman)
    or phone 819 459 3180 or e-mail carman@magma.ca
Speak Frencg or English. enjoy good music, good cooking,
ride mountain bikes or walk in Gatineau Park (270km of trails). Rent a canoe, go white -water rafting or bungee jumping. The Back Country Bus will take you into Ottawa for excellent street entertainers, many museums and the Casino in Hull - also the Raftsman pub in Hull. When you ahve spent a few days at Carman Trails, take the Moose bus on to Toronto or back to Montreal and on to Quebec City - probably the most attractive City in all North America.

I'll be going to Montreal for the first time w/ a couple of
friends from May 21-26. We'll be staying at the Auberge
Alternative in Old Montreal. Has any of you heard of this
hostel? Comments, opinions? Also, where is the hottest place
    for clubbing/nightlife?
    Thanks!
    Tessa

  7. Partying in Montreal Added by: mickey (mickeyi@yahoo.com)

There are just soooooo many places that are hot and
happening in Monteal it is hard to suggest just a few. If
you are into the afterhour, techno/house thing you should
try Sona (on Bleury between Maissoneuve and St.
Catherine...its a bit hidden, so you should ask how to het
there)or Stereo (on St Catherine East at the corner of
Amherst). If you are more into the lounge scene, try Jello
Bar (on Ontario, just east of St. Laurent), or Sofa (on
Rachel, east of St. Denis). I could keep going, but as you
see there are just too many to list. If you will be there
on a Sunday and it sin't raining make sure not to miss Tam
Tams at Parc Mt Royal (at the monument on Parc
street...just follow the sound of the drums). Tam Tams is
an awesome cranival of people, drums, dancing, and
laughter. It is a definite must.
If you have any other questions, just e-mail me.

...this posting is on every TT BB....is Henry a real
person..or maybe this is the start of a disinformation
campaign by the Separtists. First they lure naive
travellers "unsuspectingly" to their clubs and hang-
    outs...and "pow"...it's 1970 all over again....with live
coverage on CNN!!! Hey Henry don't you have a separtist
rally or ice storm to attend to?
