    Hi Jase...
Yes, I did a 3-week trip with Suntrek a few months ago...
Make sure that you don't get Paulo from Portugal as your
trek leader. Did you check out American Adventures? I heard
some pretty good stories about them...

    Hi Jase,
I did two tours with Suntrek and I wouldn't do it anymore.
The vans are pretty small, the tents as well and due to the
small cooler boxes we've got we needed to do the shopping
every day. That's pretty time consuming, especially when
you're not used to the stuff they've got in the U.S. (i.e.
orange juice without any natural ingredients). The other
travellers were between 20 - 35 years old, the
drivers/guides as well. One, Alan, always tried to bring us
to activities like horseback riding, para gliding et al,
obviously because he could do the same thing without paying
for it. The other guide, Kristin, didn't know the route and
pretty often took the wrong direction.
I did the Southwest and the Northwest with them. First was
pretty nice scenery and not too much driving. In Vegas the
van was broken, giving us some unwanted days there. This due
to the fact, that Suntrek and the leasing company didn't
want to sort out who has to pay for the repair. We didn't
see any excuses for that from Suntrek. Second one was some
5000 miles of driving, a pain in the a.., when you're stuck
in a van full of people, daypacks, drinks and so on.

    Hi,
I have made a trek from Trek America and one from
Suntrek, But to be honest I prefered Trek America a lot
    more.
    The guide was better.
I did the southern sun for three weeks with them and just
the whole education was much better.
We didn't had any problems with the long drive and it was a
nice experience to get to know foreign people. A lot from
    Europe and Australia and Japan.
And we are still in contact with them.
If you dont have anyproblems with a long drive and being in
contact the whole vacation with the same people and see a
lot from the states. Just go for it.
Good luck, And please get some information from Trek
    America.
