has anyone ever purchased standby air passes before? which
airlines offer this service? are they worth purchasing?
how much do they cost? are they really all that much
cheaper than a regular airfair? im considering this mode of
transport from nyc-niagrafalls. la-seattle. seattle-chicago.
florida-neworleans. neworleans-lasvegas. whaddy'all reckon?
thanks in advance

i travel stand-by all the time but only cuz my father is a
pilot for American Airlines and he gives me passes. i
don't know how else people can travel this way in the
states unless they know someone who works for the
airlines. other than having a stand-by pass, people fly
stand-by when they miss the flight, want a different
flight, or any other host of reasons which all involve a
pre-purchased guaranteed ticket. if i am wrong or you guys
know otherwise please let me know.

I use to travel on Northwest via stand-by. I never had any
trouble at all. They have a stand-by program for students
under 22. For $45 you can have any seat left after
    everyone is seated.
