Canada National Park Passes

Hi,
In July we'll be spending three weeks in Western Canada,
trying to visit the most important parks. On the internet I
find contradictory information regarding the sort of entry
passes you can purchase. There seems to be a 'Western
annual pass", valid for all parks in BC and Alberta,
costing 35 CND PER ADULT. (We're two adults, so that makes
70 CND)However, on another site I found that there should
also be something like a mountain pass, valid for all parks
in the rockies (not in Pacific Rim National Park), costing
60 CND PER CAR. I've visited US Parks before, and there the
price of a pass was valid per vehicle. So could someone
tell we what sort of pass we should purchase. Also, I'd
like to know if there is an entrance fee to be paid in
provincial parks as well.
Thanks a lot!

Get the answer from Parks Canada. Call toll free in the
    U.S. and Canada: 1-800-748-7275. I know the following: A
"Great Western Annual Pass" is $ 35 Canadian for 1 person.
    It's $ 70 Canadian total for 2 - 7 people I believe, so that
should answer your question. It's good in the 8 or 10
National Parks of Western Canada, but not good in the
Provincial Parks. I don't know about any fees to enter the
provincial parks, but I don't think there are any fees for
most. Ask Parks Canada to send you it's free "Official
Parks Canada Guide To The Canadian Rockies For Summer, 1999"
-- a very good publication. It includes information on the
fees you are asking about. I just got mine last week. Also
    check these websites: www.worldweb.com/ParksCanada-banff
for Banff and -yoho , -jasper , -yoho , and -kootenay
at the end of the above principal website for the adjoining
parks near Banff. These sources will give you tons of great
information! Also ask Parks Canada to send you its free
Backcountry Guides" and "Day Hiking Guides" for EACH of the
4 principal Canadian Rockies National Parks (Banff, Jasper,
Yoho, and Kootenay). They will also send you commercial
    literature. Have travels.
