I need an inexpensive hotel in the downtown Chicago area... still close to the nightlife? Any and all tips will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo

What do you mean by inexpensive? Even the crappy hotels in
downtown Chicago might be considered expensive to some
people (especially anyone used to staying in hostels). If
you are young, try to stay near Lincoln Park (part of
Chicago, just north of the loop) - it's near the bars and
    restaurants, parks, etc.
But let me know what you mean by inexpensive. Right now the
only thing that comes to mind is the Days' Inn on Clark or
LaSalle. But you would not consider it a nice hotel.

We are booked into the Cass Hotel. $89 a night. It's
central, seems friendly and has a website.(I think it's
    www.casshotel.com)

This last Christmas, the three of us stayed at the Best
Western - Grant Park for about $80.00/night. Convenient to
everything with Chicago's mass transit. Not much within
walking except the Natural History Museum and Buddy Guy's
Legends Night Club. Very large room overlooking the park,
with a very helpful staff. I made reservations "On-line"
but the good rate may have been due to the very slow pre-
    holiday season.

I mean to say relatively inexpensive, i suppose. Not neccessarily a great, or even a 'nice' place, just somewhere to crash for the night before i head out to Greece. Thanks for the tips all...
