After seeing a previous post on how to bring money to Iran,
I was wondering how difficult it was to cash travelers
checks in Egypt? Should I bring cash instead providing I
have all the credit wallets for safety when carrying a lot
of cash? Thanks

It isn't difficult to cash traveler's cheques in Egypt
however it is time consuming. A better alternative is using
the cash machines (ATMs). ATMs are conveniently located in
all large cities. You'll get a better rate plus the
commissions are generally lower. Make sure your bank card
has a four digit personal identification number (PIN) code
and is linked to the Cirrus or Plus network.
Thanks
Your welcome!
Iran, Egypt, what's the difference, right?
Well since I've been to neither I really don't know what how either countries work as far as banking or travelers checks to a certain extent. There could be be differences between them, they are different countries, correct? Since I am going to Egypt, I wanted specific information on that country. So I thought wise to create a separate post on it. I'd rather not lump two countries together in to some generalization because they are considered part of some geographical location, or share a some common cultural aspects. So there is the difference. I'm sure that each has it's own unique aspects.
travellers cheques are very easy to cash. plenty of Thos.
Cooks' etc. I must be going blind, spent time all around
Cairo and Luxor and did not see ANY ATMs.

The cash machine I used in Cairo was at Banque Misr. It is
near the American University. I'm sorry I don't have the
exact address. If you do decide to take travelers checks,
take American Express. They have an office in the downtown
area. Call American Express or try their website for the
address.
