We wish to take a felucca trip while in Luxor (we wont be
getting to aswan). Has anyone taken a felucca to Edfu from
Luxor? Is this a reasonable mode of travel to the sight?

It is a great way to go. Lots to see and time to relax. You
are at the mercy of the winds to some extent. Maybe get
together with a few other people to keep costs down. It's a
pity you aren't going to Aswan. I think it is one of the
nicer places in Egypt......bloody hot though!!

Great way to travel if you thrive on terminal boredom.

Some may also interpret 'terminal boredom' as relaxing and uniqie. Where else in the world can you float down the Nile on traditional (albiet now tourist orientated) craft? I wouldn't do it for more than 2-3 days but I enjoyed each time I travelled by felluca.
