I would like to know if I can cross from Jordan to Israel
at the Allenby bridge without my passport being stamped by
the two countries, and return to Jordan with the same visa
(I will continue to Syria, so there may be no evidence of
my visit to Israel).
Thanks !

Yes you can, but only at the Allenby bridge/King Hussein
crossing. Jordan doesn't consider this an international
border so they won't stamp you out. Just make sure that the
Israelis don't stamp your passport (don't let go of it until
you've made it clear). And make sure your Jordanian visa
doesn't expire while you're in Israel, or else you'll have
to buy a new visa and it will show in your passport.
Just a bit of caution to Jorg's usually reliable posts.
Stamping passports depends who's on duty. I know that there
were several people in Amman trying to get new passports
because of some official at the border who stamped
regardless. be very, very cautious. bob
More caution. Yes it depends who is on duty whether they
stamp or not, although they usually consider your request.
A difficulty may arise with your Jordanian visa which will
clearly indicate the Allenby entry point....and the only
way you get that is coming from Israel.
To avoid that danger last year - (when we were heading into
non-Israeli friendly countries) - we flew from Israel to
Jordan. So our visas indicated international air arrival.
Most people we met last summer visited Jordan and Israel
AFTER Syria.
