Has anyone ever been or lived in United Arab Emirates
(Dubai or Abu-Dabi) ???
If yes, could you please provide me with some valuable
information as I am going to be there for 2 years ???
I have found an interesting job in a hotel.
Any experience ???
Thanx

It's a shame you couldn't have found a job in an interesting
hotel instead. But that's asking a bit too much of the
    Emirates. Here's some tips:
    1. It probably would have been a good idea to find out
valuable information BEFORE you accepted your job.
    2. I hope you get someone to read over your contract.
    3. Learn to spell the name of the place you are going to
    live in.
    4. I hope you like working with people from the
sub-continent -- not that there's anything wrong with
having to argue with them for 18 hours a day.

  2. UAE - Thumbs Up !! Added by: Spideog

    Thomas,
Take no notice of sarcastic pj.
I am a British expat who has lived and worked in Abu Dhabi
for the last 17 years - and enjoyed every minute of it.
Thousands of other western expats feel the same.
Despite being a muslim country the UAE has few
restrictions. It is very westernised, alcohol is freely
available, there are McDonalds on every corner, night life
is superb, and every sport is catered for.
Take the opportunity, come out and enjoy your 2 years. If
you can afford it - go for a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Desert
bashing is a popular activity during the cooler winter
    months.
    Good luck.
    Spideog.
