It is reported that Israel's National Parks Authority has
authorised a private contractor to build a submerged
floating bridge into the Sea of Galilee so tourists can
simulate Jesus' walk on water. The 28-foot-long crescent-
shaped bridge, with room for 50 people at a time, will be
two inches below the surface. There will be no railings but
lifeguards will be on hand in case a walker, carried away
by the experience, goes too far.

  1. Pretty rediculous, huh? Added by: Jorg

Another dumb plan was to build huge holographic images of
the end-times on top of Megiddo. I think they scrapped that
idea when evangelical Christians (to whom they were trying
to cater) told them it was a stupid idea. I hope the same
thing happens with the bridge. I don't think Christians want
to pretend they're Jesus, that's kind of blasphemous, isn't
    it?

I hope the bridge builders are better than the ones who
built the bridge for the Maccabiah Games...

Christians have been replicating this for years with those
dinky little wooden rafts they float on in order to 'walk
    on water'.

It also received a large write-up in a major Australian
(melbourne) newspaper a couple of weeks ago.
The article was contained in the magazine that accompanies
the Sunday edition of the paper.
    Tacky is an understatement.
