Iranian visas on the road

I`m tavelling from China to Britain (I`m British) overland.
What are my chances of picking up an Iranian visa at the
embassies in either India or Pakistan? Has anyone tried
either of these places? Any tips to success? Any help would
be appreciated.

I am a kiwi and a few months ago I got my Iranian visa in
Dehli (a transit visa) in only three days. But there were
British guys who had paid their twenty US dollar non-
refundable deposit to apply (only Poms and Americans get
charged with this) and he had been waiting three weeks
without luck. When you apply ask for a transit visa and
explain you only want your visa in order to travel straight
thru to Turkey. But it does seem Brits find it harder than
    most.
The Pakistan Iranian embassy has an even worse rep for
getting visas. But I never knew any Brit first hand who
    had applied.
    Best of luck.
    Chris
