How Dangerous is Iraq, really?

After a little searching, I have finally managed to swing a
visa into Iraq. Anyone know what the situation is there
with regard to
A) Depleted Uranium
B) Cholera &c.
C) Being shot for being a Westerner?
This seems like too good an opportunity to pass up, but I'm
rather concerned about the potential long-term risks (e.g.
to my children, should I ever decide to have any... will
they have more than one neck?).

Okay, I'll bite. Why are you going to Iraq? How did you
    get the visa?

...look you are going to the last of the Middle Eastern
dictatorships. You have no fear of depleted Uranium less
you visit one of the thousands of destroyed Iraqi tanks in
the southern desert or unless you join the Iraqi air
defense forces. 2nd: as a tethered-journalist or other
politically acceptable propaganda lap-poodle you will have
a trail of handlers, military police and Mukahbarat a miles
long...also everyone will be REQUIRED to report anything
you said or whom you've met. Still happy you are
visiting? If you don't want to get shot then do everything
your handelers say, don't even THINK of doing anything
illegal and God forbid you don't get arrested. The laws of
Iraq are theirs to enforce and your embassy (assuming you
are not American, French or British) will be able to do
little to get you out for at least 3-6 months. After you
make an admission of guilt, of course. That is the hard
truth. But smile allot ... everyone wants to get out and
will be quite nice to you. Honest, its all true.
