Should I visit Petra, Jordan?

I am taking a short trip to Egypt and Israel in November.
When i mean short -- I am talking about 2 weeks (it will be
quite demanding I am sure). Because it is so short I am
spending a lot of time making sure that I can do what I
want, when i want. I read in the lonely planet guides
about this city called Petra in Jordan. Would you say it
is worth the visit considering my short stay? Can it be
done -- I would interested in knowing this from anyone who
has potentially tried and even if it can -- would it be
worth the rush?

Definately try to get to Petra. It is one of the great
ancient sites of the world. It is not difficult to get
there either from Israel or Egypt. You might consider
crossing into Jordan at Aqueba on the red sea coast.
Egypt, Israel and and Jordan are all crammed together at
the top of the sea almost with walking distance. Petra is
then a short trip from Aqueba. Enjoy!

It's not a question if you should...
    YOU MUST !!!
beyond jokes I personally think that Petra is one of the
    most beautiful places on earth.

Petra is definitely THE Highlight of the Middle East. It is
worth the travel alone. Even Israel (which I love)pales in
    comparison. Don't miss it.
