You've already cancelled your trip, so why are you asking
advice now? I think cancelling was the wrong decision, if
    you're looking for opinions.

Turkey is as safe as anywhere else. I just returned from
there with my wife and child. We had a wonderful time.
Take advantage of the fear of others. Hotel rooms are
plentiful and cheap, and nothing is crowded.

hey i'm sorry you cancelled your trip.
as a female i traveled around turkey by myself with
relatively few problems.I also have a american friend who is
living in turkey and she too finds this ok. Turkey is a
great country to explore espacially the country and it
beachs which in AUG can have lots of tourists around.
