We are two families going to Greece in June with 4 kids
(11,12,13&13). We are planning a side trip to Turkey for a
couple of days. Does anyone have tips on which islands we
should visit, special sights to see, good inexpensive
hotels, etc.? Thanks for any information that you think
would be helpful.

Turkey is fabulous. Unfortunatly a warning has just gone out
about trouble there, and tourists would be targeted. May be
need to just do Greece at this time.

I want to take my 6th grade, 12 year old son, who LOVES all
things related to world studies, to Greece and Italy this
summer. I personally hate itineraries; however, am fearful
that I may need to hook up with a tour company of some sort
to get around in Greece particularly (I was last there
doing my "thing" in 1973 so have some trepidations about
just going with the flow there!) First, is it possible to
travel, woman alone with child, without hassel, on trains?
Second, are there any companies which specialize in tours
of special interest to kids (Mt. Olympus and all the
rest)? I can appreciate the aforementioned caution about
Turkey. Are things still as bad in Egypt?
