We are going to South Africa with a 3 year old in the
summer. Have you got any tips to give us concerning what is
great for a child there as well as what should or should not
be done.Thanks

Cape Town is fantastic. You must go to Boulders Beach and
see the Penguins. We went when our son was 2.5 and he
still talks about it a year later.
The aquarium and the whole water front area is great for
    kids.
Driving is slow and somewhat tedious with kids, take some
    tapes for the car.
It was fantastic just to see the things that he enjoyed,
which wern't necessarily the things we would have
    expected. Enjoy.

I have two kids 3 and 7. Every year we travel in SA during
July and August. Instead of staying in hotels there is
plenty of serviced high tsandard sekf catering facilities
which leave much more freedom with the kids. Karos Lodge
near Kruger has cottages with 2 bedrooms.
Mind that some hotels do categoricly refuse children below
    12/ which I find terrible!
