Our family, 2 adults, 3 kids 8, 6, 3 will be flying to
France March/April to visit family in Nice, then on to
London to rent a car for 2 weeks touring. Can you advise
places in France & Paris the kids would enjoy, and also
in London and UK. Thanks.

For things to do with kids in the UK take a look at the

We just returned last week from London and Paris with our 5
and 8 year old boys. In London, they loved the Science
Museum (6 stories of hands -on activities) and the Natural
History Museum (they visited on two consecutive days).
They also liked the Tower of London and the Museum of the
Moving Image. Best thing in London - feeding the pigeons
in Trafalgar Square. In Paris, the Catacombs and the
Eiffel Tower were the biggest hits. City of Science in
Paris is overpriced and not even one-tenth as good as the
    Science Museum in London.

...make sure to take at least some day-trips out of London - it's an incredible city but very different from the rest of the country. Britain is incredibly small, so if you're touring for 2 weeks you could easily see a bit of Scotland and/or Wales for a couple of days in addition to England.
I haven't travelled with kids, but I'd suggest castles, of which there are many. Also, if your children like horses, 'pony-trekking' is popular in many scenic areas.

Our children loved the Eifel tower and close by there is a
100 year old merry go round they loved it. Horse riding in
Wales was a big hit. Steam train rides were also wonderful.
We found that the kids got very tired with all the walking
around so when in a city we took the circuit buses the kids
slept on a seat while we got to view the city sites and
decide which ones we wanted to go into when the kids woke
up. Eating in McDonalds in any country was always a treat
as we found they did not like the local food much. Cadbury
drinking chocolate in England is so nice. Remember if Mum
and Dad drink tea to take some to Paris as they don't if
Mum's happy the whole family will be. Have a wonderful trip
and enjoy everything. You can sleep in a motel room
anywhere and for a short time do everything that you can.
    Sleep when you get back.
