    Hi
    I haven't been to Vietnam yet, so I'm afraid I can't help
you there. But I suggest you post the same question on the
South Eeast Asia branch of the Thorntree. In my experience,
you get a lot more answers there, weather you're travelling
with kids or not. It just seems to be more people reading
    that brach. Good luck!
Oh, a question for you: Have you been able to find flights
that are not seriously expensive for this time? We were
planning to go to Vietnam or Indonesia, but from Sweden
prices seem to double for the Millenium! Chocking!

I went to Vietnam in 1995 (so it's nearly 5 years ago and
doubtless things have changed). Your trip, and your
expectations all depend on whether you've been to S.E. Asia
before and if you've been back-packing before. Of course,
you could do the expensive tourist hotels/chauffeur driven
car experience which would set you back at least $200 US a
day but would be much easier to cart around all the baby
paraphernalia. The budget hotels are reasonably clean but
are very tatty and don't have ANY baby provisions (ie:
clean sheets ...). You'll have to take your own travel
cots and as for sterilising equipment .. most of these
places don't have plugs! I suggest going to your local
    travel agent for advice.
Laos is an alternative as it's an incredibly friendly
country and the people won't hassle you in the same way as
they will in Vietnam. It's a bit more basic but if you're
prepared to go to that part of the world anyway, it
shouldn't make much difference. I have a 10 month old
baby. I'd much rather take her to Laos than Vietnam!
One thing to note is that the only decent hospitals round
there are in Thailand so be prepared for a quick medivac if
one of you gets seriously ill.%
