I HAVE TO GO BECAUSE

Backpackers seem to be getting quite a bad reputation, and
I wonder if we are really that bad? Are you going to India
because you love indian culture, or just to get stoned in
Goa? Are you hoping to find yourself a guru, or maybe the
love of you life - (or easy sex..)? Or are you travelling
because your life is horribly boring. Or to get away. Or..
Try to state - in one sentence - whu YOU are going to INDIA!

    India is God

  2. Because Added by: Indian

Its ceap to travel and they can discriminate against the
Indians. This is common with Australians , Brits and
Israelis which is why we don't like them.

  3. because i've experienced here. Added by: silas

    because i've experienced here.

  4. India=Not boring Added by: love beautiful India
[Timestamp: Tue 18 May, 14:44 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Because the US is boring in comparison, too many
rules/regulations/ and the only visible religious people
    here, are annoying christian fundamentalists.
Ok i am cheating with another sentence, but India has things
that are ancient. Nothing is that old in the US.

  5. this is what my parents ask me all the time Added by: Andy
[Timestamp: Tue 18 May, 15:19 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Sipping chai to the dance of Shiva; I wonder (sometimes
outloud to my complaining family) why does anyone not go?

'Getting' a bad reputation?! This is nothing new. Indians
have been disgusted with certain segments of the western
traveling community for those very same reasons for at least
20 years. Sex & drugs are not the reason for me. I think
traveling anywhere without an itinerary and preconceptions
is a great adventure, and India has a particularly endearing
character for those who are into it. There's nowhere like
    it.

  7. we are not all teh same! Added by: carmel (hyuve@hotmail.com)
[Timestamp: Tue 18 May, 17:43 Tasmanian Standard Time]

sex and drugs you could do at home. why do people think
that if you hand out a passport you are now free to do the
switch in the mind? i travel to expirience. and india
seems like a place you cannot avoid going THROUGH it and
through yourself at the same time. a physical journey is
also a spiritual one. oh yes, and i am israeli. we are not
all the same you know.... the young ones that come to india
to unwind after the army are different than many others
that you wouldn't even recognise as israelis on the
streets. pls don't judge people by nationalities.

  9. hmm... Added by: Char
[Timestamp: Tue 18 May, 19:45 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Because it's amazing, there's nowhere else like it. Not for
the sex and drugs of Goa - you might as well go to
Amsterdam. To experience the culture and to live a dream.

  13. CRAZYNESS Added by: SAM
[Timestamp: Wed 19 May, 4:30 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Its PURE CRAZYNESS and goa is not India at all...Goa is
western culture in India. Goa is a nice place to take a
break but the REST OF INDIA IS WHERE THE REAL CRAZYNESS IS!

  14. 8 times a dream? Added by: Ulla
[Timestamp: Wed 19 May, 6:29 Tasmanian Standard Time]

This year we will be going to India the 8th time - a country
full of beauty, hospitality and time for each other, where
do you find this in the western hemisphere?

  16. TIGERS. Added by: Indianer
[Timestamp: Thu 20 May, 11:37 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Please do your best India to keep enough range open for
them to survive. I don't know if this could be done in the
    west.

  17. I will go because... Added by: JO
[Timestamp: Sat 22 May, 1:29 Tasmanian Standard Time]

...I did't get to visit all the places I wanted to see on
    my last trip.
...because it's necessary for me to escape my own culture
    once in while.
    ...because India is wonderful...amusing...beautiful...
    chaotic...messy...etc.
...or to sum it up: "Because it is there!"
