I am planning to visit Pakistan's North West Frontier
province, starting in Peshawar and travelling up to Chitral
then onwards towards Mastuj. Has anyone made this trip
recently? I would be glad of any information or advice on
transport/accommodation etc.

The whole point of going to the NWFP is to get away from the
mundane tourist crowds - go and be a man! its the frontier
    - don't waster teh potential for adventure by getting too
much information before hand! Just go!!

    Dear Otis
q is living in the past.
buses are toyata hiace - packed out and very uncomfortable.
Peshawar is a fantastic city with all tourist mod cons -
and if you head north from there make the most of looking
at the women - you won't see many more. Try the new golden
hotel in Peshawar - it is above a bank on Saddar - but do
not fear it is not in the tourist books (q - note) so no
smelly travellers stay there - pure pakistani - the owner
had a heart op in london in 93 - he is the nicest pakistani
    in the wolrd.
Chitral is different - hope you aren't a veggie.
    all the best bc
