India to Burma - anyone been

Has anybody been overland from India to burma ?
Is is possible at all and how does one get visas in India.

    Not currently possible for foreigners to go overland from
    India into Burma. Get your Burma visa before you leave home
    and fly into Rangoon.

    hi alex.
    i intend to cross from india to burma at the end of july,
    if the dates fit you can email and possibly join me (i will
    not be following the posts here so use email). baiscally
    you can issue a visa in the burmese embasy in delhi, and
    the cheapest way toc ross is by flight from calcutta to
    rangoon. 145$ by indian airlines, twice a week. myanmar
    airways do this flight too, dunno how much they cost and
    how reliable is the airline though.
