Will be in Delhi for a few weeks and want to get to Katmandu
the fastest and cheapest way - only have one week to spend
there. What is the best airline to fly, the cheapest etc.
and how should I go about getting the ticket. Will be
travelling in October of '99. Is it easier to arrange a
ticket over hear or should I wait until I am there.
Somebody give me some advice. Thank you

i was in india in august and september 1998. initially our
plan was to catch a bus/train combination fron Varanassi to
Kathmandu, but extreme flooding in northern india ruled this
out. so for GBP35 each (or US$56) we flew from Varanassi to
Kathmandu. A 45 minute flight as opposed to a 16 hour
bus/train journey. We flew Airindia but there is also
another company India Air(i think). We booked our flight in
Delhi at the main office for the airline, very easy. A
reasonable standard on the flight, but hey for 45 minutes
before you know it your back on the ground. The office we
went to was near the huge underground markets and the
    revolving restuarant tower. good luck
