Perhaps those who are interested in reading up a bit on
Indian history or at least as it's known to date, I'd like
to recommend A.L.Basham's "The Wonder That was India". It's
not any marketing hype - the book has sold in millions. But
it's a serious work by an objective historian - an eminent
professor from an Australian Univ. (U.of Canberra??)

It's also a book that's been soundly criticized by many
Indian historians. I can did out quite a few condescending
remarks in that book. Added to that is the fact that it
does not take into account recent research in Ancient
Indian History.
If anyone wants to read Indian History written by
another firang, be my guests. If you want a opinion more
rooted in Indian soil, then there are quite a few hindu,
Muslim and commie sources to choose from.
