Yes, there are such things as "gay Pakistanis," as well as
lots of "opportunistic sex." Both can be had in Pakistan,
the former in private homes and private parties (mostly in
Lahore and Karachi) and the latter on most any public street
or space. I would hesitate to call it "opportunistic,"
however, because much of it is motivated by true desire,
even if there is no personal identity per se attached to the
physical sex.

Yes there are gay Pakistanis.
In my experience there are Pakistanis who definitely
identify as gay (and as evidenced by the postings above) but
that are (for obvious reasons) not out even if proud.
I have, however, found that there is not really a concept of
a gay relationship in Pakistan, and also that most "open"
gay Pakistanis are from the upper end of society.
My experience is mainly in Karachi and I would like to hear
from gay guys in Karachi re their gay (or otherwise)
lifestyle and on the above issues.

sure there are plenty of gay pakistanis...and why
not...just as there are gay americans or arabs or
whatever...even gay goldfish i think....as for the question
that was asked...it does assume the existence of a certain
structure within which gays can exist...unfortunately there
is none...hence young pakistanis grow up gay but do not
really know if they are... the stereotypes they have are
not particularly appetising...either the hijras (eunuchs)
they see around them or perhaps the fawning la cage aux
folles queen image foisted on by western films. As for sex
being opportunistic or "real"...well that is something that
can never be determined. A gay pakistani may well have and
enjoy sex with other men, but hesitates from being
classified as "gay" either because he does not know what
that entails or (alternatively) the stereotypes available
do not encourage him to be classified in this manner. Sure
there is plenty of opportunistic sex around...as there is
in...ummm tasmania! as for the parties in karachi and
lahore...the least said about them the better. They sound
much better than they really are.
I am a gay Afghan in Pakistan and am looking for more of my
kind but I don't find a gay Afghan site. I mean not just

you are out there, but our tradition keeps us from
expressing ourselves. The term 'Batcha Baz' which refers
to gay people in Dari is not a good one, for it means
