Hi,
This summer (June and July) I'm working in London fⁿr seven
weeks. And I'm looking for some nice things to do in my free
time (and I don't want to go to that very touristic places,
I want to see the real London). I'm looking for some good
pubs with live-music (Blues preferred)- not to far from
Hampstead. And - of course - I like to know some nice places
to eat, interessting places to see, good events. And: Where
should I go, when I want to make a trip over the weekend?
Are there nice places at the coast (not only Brighton)?
Thank you!!!

If you are living near Hampstead try the Freemasons Arms near the Heath for a nice pub lunch. There is a fantastic beer garden with tables and a garden in the back.

Cambridge is a good place to go to for a weekend. King's
college is very nice and going punting on the Cam is great.
it's only an hour away by train but the bus is 2hours and is
much cheaper, about ú10 return I think. There are also more
pubs per square mile in Cambridge than anywhere else outside
    London. Have a good trip

I have on disc notes on walks and pub lunches in central
London, and shall gladly copy it to you if you ask me.
For pubs with live music ou might buy "Time Out" weekly
listings magazine, sold in all newsagencies, including those
    at Heathrow, Gatwick, and Waterloo.
    Welcome to London
    Ben Haines
