I did the three-day Haggis tour. Definitely recommend it -- except do the six-day tour. Three days was way too short. Cheapest way to get to Edinburgh is to fly into London and then take bus to Edinburgh. Much cheaper than train.

I'm actually planning on doing Haggis backpacker's
"hop-on/hop-off" service this summer. If you are
interested in doing some hiking and want more
independence than a tour can give, you might
consider this instead of the tour. If you want more
info on this service, post a message and I'll say
    more.

Hi, yes i do like some more independence than a tour. do
you think the hop-on hop-off is a lot more expensive than
just taking the regular bus to the places you want to go
to? where exactly does the bus stop on the route you're
planning to take? would it be worth it for me to just go
for around 6 days- is it long enough on the hop-on hop-off
    route?
    thanks for your help.
