England to Ireland

I'm looking to spend a couple of weeks in Ireland this
summer. I'm returning from an expensive global trip and so
cash is a premium. Can anyone recommend the cheapest way to
get from England to Dublin with a car? (I live in
Northampton).

   Probably the cheapest ferries would leave from Holyhead in
   NW Wales. Its sometimes cheaper if you get a ferry at a
   wierd hour eg very early morning.
