I am a school teacher and just got out for summer
vacation. I would like to take my children to England for
a couple of weeks, but the plane tickets are very expensive
right now. Does anyone know websites for cheap tickets?
Thanks!

    or priceline.com
I have had good luck with both.

It is easier to tell you how to get here the cheapest if I
know where you are coming from. I am guessing somewher in
North America. Could you please confirm this.

I was very pleased with Priceline. I got 3 tickets to
London from L.A. Bought them in March for travel in Aug. I
bid under $650 per ticket (when posted scheduled airfares
were in the $900s at that time). The key is to be READY TO
BUY with credit card, and to be "reasonable." Flexibility
is important, too. You can't choose time of day or airline.
I ended up with the airline I wanted and the exact
itinerary I had hoped for. Good luck!

In one of my most recent issues of Consumer Travel letter..
they had a very difficult time getting any kind of service
from Priceline. They paid for each bid and said that they
were very disappointed with the service.
If anyone puts a effort into fare prices...between the
consolidators and ads in the Sunday New York Times, travel
section...you never have to pay full fare.
I have traveled to Europe 15 times in the last 15
years, sometimes at short notice.I have flown..........
Peoples Express to London for 99rt.Icelandair to Luxomborg
for250rt. Often to Paris for under 300usd.
Develop good relations with 2 consolidators.
Don't be a whiner or a pain the ass with these people.
Someday when you are 35,000 feet up...and hanging around
the lavatorys and the discussion turns to cost of
tickets...you'll notice that 4 people will have 4 different
prices.I once knew a man who traveled across the US many
times...he had travel vouchers that he had collected from a
supermarket promotion..Each time he went... he would get
    bumped..hence another r/t ticket.
Jim Blaine was his name...He was a Scottish.

As a school teacher, you can get discount tickets through
Council Travel. I have tried cheap tickets, travelocity,
and lowestfare.com and I have almost always gotten a better
deal at Council travel. For more info go to
    www.counciltravel.com of 1-800-council.
