Interracial problems?

This topic was created by Noi due

We are what some people might describe as a "mixed-race"
couple (although we, and our friends, simply think of us
as...a couple!) - one caucasian, one oriental. Is this going
to be a problem for us while travelling through Europe this
year? Itinerary (rough): France, Spain, Portugal, Austria,
Czech Republic, Morocco, Turkey & Greece (maybe).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My wife is a Philippina and I am an American. We have been to Europe and have never encountered any problems anywhere. We are taking off Friday to return to Spain.

    You're avoiding Germany. Why?

There are definitely some racism problems in France. (I am
oriental as well), but you should not encounter problems in
France. Policemen and customs may be more suspicious, but
that's the only thing that could be annoying for you.
Keep the smile, enjoy France and don't mind what people may
    say.
It should be also OK in other counties. As far as I know,
France is one of the worst countries for that.

  5. Better here I think... Added by: Heidi Bammer (treehousehotel@hotmail.com)

    I don't think you'll have a problem at all. I find
Europeans more tolerant then most. I live in a very small
town in Austria called Gruenau and there are a few mixed
marriages here and no one seems to have a problem with it.
I wouln't call my marriage "mixed race", but my husband is
Austrian and I am American. We are definately culturally
different and our children are growing up bilingual. We've
been running our hostel, the Treehouse, here for almost two
years and since we've been here, we've brought people from
all over the world to our little town. I think our locals
find all our guests very interesting, since they don't
travel very much themselves. I wouldn't worry. Just relax
and have a great time. If you would like more information
please feel free to email me.
    Sincerely,
    Heidi

I thought Oriental referred to objects (food, art,
    etc.)...your mate is Asian.
Linguistics aside, you will have no problem. I am married
to a German man and had no problems in Europe.
    Happy trails!!

you're is a contraction of "you are," "your" is the possessive. you used "youre" (sic) as both the contraction and the possessive....and i'm canadian.
