I'll be arriving in Barcelona on June 3rd and will need a clean and inexpensive hotel in the area near the Gotic district. I prefer a single room with bath but will take a bathroom down the hall if necessary. Any suggestions?

Sorry but in Barcelona? Expect grubby, broken faucets,
noise, renovations, heat, prices.... but that's just for
sleeping...other than that Barcelona is a blast! Sorry I
can't recommend ANY that were clean and cheap from each time
i've been there....look forward to seeing if someone else
can though....
Try Hostal Jardi, in Placa del Pi...I wouldn't say it's the
quietest one around, but very central, clean and the Placa
is great...
