temp work in Ireland

I am going to Ireland from July to September, and I am over
25 so can't get a working visa. Is there any possibility
of getting short term temping jobs (eg. software testing)
without a visa, for example by getting an employment agency
to sponsor me?
What about 'cash in hand' type of work in pubs etc, or even
in return for accommodation? Any advice appreciated.
