Please help me; ferry info is so confusing. What is the
cheapest way to get me (one person no bike) to somewhere in
the english channel from Ireland... Portsmith, calais, Le
havre, or even that other big french port would be ok.
There are so many ferry companies... also I have a eurail
pass that will give some ambigous discount? Has anyone used
a ferry? What about the prospects of hitching a ride with a
motorist?
Thank You for your support :)

    Hi Amy,
I was stuck in France, low on cash, this time last year.
So I (at the time a 23yr/solo/female) hitched rides with
truck drivers. They can put second drivers on to go over
for free. I crossed at Calais into dover and then from
Liverpool over to Dublin. (In all I travelled from
Strasbourg to Dublin via friendly truck drivers)
