How hard is it for an Australian to get a visa for czech
rep. I heard a rumour that it is cheaper to get this
organised in London rather than leaving it till I am at the
czech border.

Either get one from one of the surrounding countries or London. Don't get one at the border - the border guards speak dodgy english, and can get moody at times. We had a bad experience at the border.

It is ok on the border - sometimes you wait, but better
    than get it in London

It's one of the easiest visas for Aussies to obtain. Got
mine in Vienna. It was ready right away and free. Get it
    wherever you want.

We planned to get a Czech visa in Vienna last September,
expecting it to take a day or so, when we finally got to the
embassy of the Czech Republic we discovered from a week or
so beforehand it was taking up to a week for Australian
passport holders to get their visa. That was September '98,
so if anyone can clarify on current situation, excellent.
Yeah it used to be available in a number of hours, now not
    so sure...
