Hi there,
Does anyone have any hints, tips or recommendations about
hiking (especially day trips) in Hungary. I understand
there are some quite nice walks near Budapest itself. Any
ideas?
Thanks,
Hilary

    Hi Hilary!
You can try haiking there are no problems and people
specaly younger one like to stop and take hikers around.
By me you don`t need to hiking because buses and train are
so cheap and the connections are very good.
I visit Hungary last year for one month if you need other
    informations you can write back.

    Hilary,
I spent some time in Hungary a couple of years ago. Tired
of Budapest, I took a short train ride to Szentendre (sp?)
and Visagrad, both small towns/villages about an hour north
of the city, on the Danube. Had a really nice time there,
it was very good to get away from the big city for a little
while. I remember that Visagrad in particular had some
nice walking just outside of town, pretty hilly around
there, dramatic views of the river, very pleasant.
Email me if you'd like further details.
