Party Clothes

All of you club-hopping party animals out there please give
me some suggestions on what kind of clothes to pack for my
trip to Europe. I would like to bring tight-fitted
designer shirt, rayon dress shirt, and dress pants for
going out, but I don't think they will be too useful for
travelling and don't want to bring anything just for
special occations. I would like to know what you guys wear
that are nice enough to get into clubs but also plain or
rugged enough to travel on.

  1. Polyester & Nylon Added by: Road Slave (kaiwen1@hotmail.com)

I'm debating the same thing. Here's my bag for several
    months of travel:
1 groovy short sleeve cotton shirt
    2 groovy synthetic T-shirts
2 groovy polyester/nylon North Face long sleeve shirts
2 semi-groovy North Face kakhi pants that convert to shorts
    4 socks
2 underware (I freeball, the drawers are only for sleeping)
The North Face stuff looks pretty good. It's not primo
club wear, but you won't have geek tatooed on your forehead
either. The problem is shoes. I've got one pair of Tivas
and one pair of leather hiking boots. Niether fit the
bill. But I'm definitely more road slave than fashion
slave, so the extra shoes are out.
Someone recently posted their clothing recommendations here
that consisted mostly of cotton this and cotton that.
That's garbage advice. Cotton SUCKS for travel! Takes
forever to dry, rots, stains, stinks, wrinkles, shrinks.
    Avoid it.

guys, noone looks spectacular when they travel - and
noone looks spectacular when they go out. What's more,
MOST don't care. You could make do with bringing one
going out top and just wear any pants. But please do me a
favour and leave the hairdryer at home.

it may help to cordinate around one color scheme

Buy second hand clothes where you go. You can pick up some
pretty alright party stuff in these places and it also saves
    room in your pack.

  5. Designer T-shirts Added by: TGD

Tight-fitting designer T-shirts are certainly _in_ on a
summer night. A good pair of jeans will complement it
nicely, although they are hard to wash and dry. Footware
can consist af a pair of low AllStars; they don't take much
space and are comfortable to walk in, too. This is usual
clothing to most bars in Athens nowadays.

  6. Clothing... Added by: Nikki

I started off with a backpack full of clothes which were
quickly discarded. Although I kept a pair of cargo pants, a
skirt (I'm not into slothing in shorts), a rainproof
overjacket, a black cotton long sleeve, black nylon tshirt,
black nylon/lycra tshirt dress and black flared pants. I
don't mind dressing clubby during the day coz it's what i'm
used to, but still wanted something a little dressy by
night.... mind you depending upon how long you're travelling
for (????) get used to the idea of sewing buttons back on,
mending tears etc.... Go with what you're comfortable in,
both in terms of how you look and feel, try to cater for
everyday lifestyle with a little variation for night tiome
or sports..... I agree with the above post that one dress
shirt is enough. But then it all depends how long you're
travelling.... going for a week and you're laughing but
going for months, you really want to pack scarce.... as for
shoes try to stick to something versatile, like eg dark
hiking boots than can pass as dress shoes ....also depends
where u are as you will often stumble across fantastic
"people" places that don't cost the earth and aren't fashion
conscious, but yeah, pack just that one shirt for serious
    clubbing.....

Pack a tiny chain mail loincloth a pair silver flip flops.
You'll be the hippest dude in the club and add less than a
    kilo to your pack.

  8. Club gear Added by: hipster
[Timestamp: Sun 23 May, 7:55 Tasmanian Standard Time]

I agree with Nikki and TGD. Maybe pack one polyester retro
shirt, one high quality tight fitting t-shirt (if you're in
good shape) with some dark denim jeans. Accessories go a
long way; a decent belt dress up any outfit, maybe even a
bead or thin leather necklace if you're down with that. As
for shoes, buy some nice, stylish, dark colored sneakers -
    Vans, Simple, Sketchers.
Overall, it's important to remember that while traveling,
it's impossible to bring all the same club gear you'd wear
at home, but that's the point right? To go out some place
    besides your hometown.
