Russian Living Costs

Does anyone know how much it costs to live in Russia (I
live in the USA)? I recently came into some money, and was
thinking about going to Russia for a year or so. How much
should be realistically budgeted per month for living costs
in Russia?
Thanks, Chaika

Living costs in Russia are differ from place to place, and
this is a really big difference, like between some
countries. Which region are you interested about? Do you
want to live in a big city, small town or in the village?

I suggest you contact my son who has been living and teaching in Moscow since January. He can tell you how far dollars go and how available things are. His email address is hairynupe@hotmail.com. Tell him his mother sent you. By the way, we took the Trans-Siberian from Beijing to Moscow last summer--fantastic trip. I'd do it again, but probably not in the winter. It's just now getting into the 50's and 60's in Moscow, but June-July was quite comfortable. Good luck.
