I can't remember but didn't they find Noah's Ark in Turkey a
number of years ago? Or at least they think its the Ark, it
is logged in ice in mountains, does anyone know anything
about this? Where is Amigo when you need him?

Legend has it that the ark landed on the slopes of Mt.
Ararat on the border of Turkey and Iran. I was there
several years ago, and looked up there with my binoculars,
but didn't see it anywhere! I remain sceptical myself, but
I'm sure Amigo could give us the full story on this.

Very much depends on whether you believe there was a Noah's Ark in the first place. If so, then your faith is probably such that you can believe it is on Mt Ararat.

Like Steve, I didn't see it either, and I don't feel inclined to re-check right now, it being the prime site for PKK kidnappings.

  4. What was found Added by: Islander

was a very large elliptic depression of unusual shape that
could not readily be explained geologically. An American
team documented this find and took side beamed surface xray
readings which seemed to indicate a subsurface pattern such
as would be created by fossilized wood planking. However,
the Turkish government did not grant permission for a dig,
citing danger from guerilla activities in the region. The
head of the research team brought a certain fundamentalist
bias to the investigation and perhaps it was best that the
archeological project has been put on hold for now. If it is
there it won't sail away soon. The discovery was filmed in a
CBS documentary a few years back.
