If you could live one place in the world and could NEVER
travel farther than 30 miles (48km), where would that be
and why?

  1. San Francisco is my choice., Added by: Traveldude

It is an amazing place with a lot to do. It is a scenic
city and is also close to the ocean. The climate is a bit
cool for me, but I like SF enough to not let that matter.

Some monkdom anyoldwheres, where I would find contentment in
gazing at a single blade of grass fortherestofmyborndays.
    Peace.

Every day I live here I realise that there's more and more
    to do. I love it.

Mr. Blah, Jack, whatever your name is, you continue to amaze
me . . . Your response below about the Daile Lama gave me
    goosebumps.

Even though, ridiculously, I don't live there I would choose
London, the centre of the universe for everything I enjoy.
    The perfect city.

  7. Trinidad and Tobago..... Added by: Mariam

As long as I can't move out of a 30 mile radius, I might as
well be where it's warm, beautiful, and people of all races
and religions live together peacefully. Trinidad and Tobago
are unique in the aspect that it is home to so many people
of diverse backrounds, yet there is no animosity against
    each other.

I would hang anyone who dare oblige me to avoid traveling
    farther than 30 miles.

  10. Right where i am now Added by: Gemini (gemi_ni21@hotmail.com)
[Timestamp: Wed 26 May, 9:54 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Within 50km: beach, river, bay, islands, rainforests, city, bush, perfect weather. Could spend 50years exploring everywhere within a 50km radius, but make it 100km and I could be within reach of major tourist destinations, a world heritage rainforest, the best beaches in the world and more.

  11. # 2 for Van Added by: Dawit
[Timestamp: Wed 26 May, 10:47 Tasmanian Standard Time]

Even with that 30-mile chain, I could access abundance in things both urban and wild. The wild side would include oceans, rivers, lakes, mountains (and just enough flat land).

I'd also want to be rich enough to have both the time and money to enjoy all that. It's an expensive city by Canadian standards (although not quite as bad as SF).

  12. Maybe it's comfort zone Added by: Hurricane

maybe it's the devil I know - but Sydney - National Parks,
    Beaches, Harbour, Rivers, Nightlife.....

This planet most beautiful city, Rio de Janeiro. And what
you mean "if you could live..." ? I`m already living here
    ;-)
a metropolis with the world`s largest urban forest, beaches
(Copacabana, Ipanema, etc), mountains, samba and Bossa nova
beats, and lots more. Life is definatelly not boring down
    here.
