Have one week in early June for relaxation before I start my
internship (first year of residency for physicians in the
US) in surgery (read: grueling, painful year with only one
week vacation total).
Would like: island paradise with pleanty of sun, sand and
water and enough culture that husband won't be bored after
one day.
Also would like: afordable package of airfair and lodging.
Any suggestions? Please help me out.

    Try St. Vincent,
I lived there for four months volunteering. It is
absolutely beautiful and cheap. You can hike in a volcano
(obviously not active), relax on the beach and there are
many little islands to visit as well check out the site on
    lonely planet.
