Check out Bahamasair for trips to the other Bahamian family
islands. Fares are pretty low and the ride on
Bahamas"scare" is always an adventure!!! Visit our home
page at http://www.angelfire.com/az/theredds - go to the
BAHAMAS page. We highly recommend you visit Andros Island
    while you're out there.

It really depend what you are looking for in the Bahamas. If you are looking for the tacky tourist from the mediarocity of the Mainland us who are nothing more than a overdressed Wallmart Shoppers, Nassau is the place. Perhaps, I am being reather critical but there is so much other than Nassau and Paradise Island. I have a month a year at my family's place on Long Island Bahamas as well as crusing aroung the other Islands and had a wonderful opportunity to see what is really out there. You can catch a flight on Bahamas Air to Long Island ( Stella Maris is the Airport). It on the Northern Part of the Island. The resort owned by a German Family and called Stella Maris after an old plantation that once stood there. It is very remote but the Island is very welcoming. They have Shark Dives and some of the most incredible snorkling in the Bahamas. Also there is a Canadian owned Resort about 15 bunglows called Cape Santa Maria Resort they have a web site if you do a search for Long Island, Bahamas you wil find it. The Island is 90 miles long by 3 miles wide it takes 3 hours driving to get from one end to another. I can honestly say that in all my travels in the southern Europe and the South Pacific the beaches here are some of the most pristine. There are only 4 houses on the Cape I will be spending my summer in what the islanders call the Love House which is in the middle of the cape. If you make it that far and if you are there in July or August come by for a Rum Runner.
