Has anyone been to Ceibal? I am going to visit Tikal and I
want to know if it is worth to visit Ceibal as well. I have
read that the trip to get there is an experience. Is it
true?
Thanx Francesco

i went there in 1993 and i really loved it. Do it yourself,
take the bus to Sayaxche and rent a boat there. Boats are
not really cheap (we payed 30 US$ in 1993), but much
cheaper then an organised trip which costed 30 US$ per
person. i also liked the trip to Aguateca, same price for a
    smaller boat.

I went there last February and enjoyed it. So unless you're
really really tight on time, I would recommend you to go.
It's a really quiet place and there aren't many people who
are visiting it. But don't expect to see some amazing ruins
like in tikal. Most of the temple haven't been uncarved yet.
The trip on the river is cool indeed. I've seen a couple of
    crocodile on the way.
I'm not sure that it's gonna be much cheaper to do it
yourself if you're on your own. It's ok if you can share to
price of the boat, otherwise, it's gonna turn more expensive
than the organized trip. I paid 25$ for it.
