Hello.
I'm going to Belize for 11 days very soon.
I'm looking for recommendations from someone who's been
there & enjoyed it:
1) Caye Caulker vs. Ambergris?
2) Any good white water rafting in Guatamala or Belize?
3) What did you think of Placencia?
4) We're planning on going to Tikal. Is it worth going to
the Cayo district, as well? Or, is the time better spent on
one of the Cayes or another part of Belize?
Please feel free to e-mail me with a response.

    David,
San Pedro, on Ambergris Caye, is more "uptown" - a bit more
nightlife, wider range of accommodations, more restaraunts,
more people (but not a lot). Caye Caulker is more laid back,
less expensive accomodations, and a bit less variety
overall. Depends on what you are looking for!
SLICKROCK does some whitewater rafting on the Macal River,
but it is the dry season now so don't know if the water
level is at. Sorry no info on same in Guat.
Cayo district is beautiful, there are some great lodges up
there, Chaa Creek, Chan Chich, Blancaneaux, to name just a
few. Great jungle action, very rural and friendly.
You have the choice of driving through the Cayo or flying
there from Belize City - you can also connect from San Pedro
    if you wish.
Belize is VERY active on the net, check out some of the web
pages - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time wherever you
    go!
