I want to know the about what their is to do in Mexico on a
short time scale. Go west or east? Whether female, blonde
travellers get hassle? Diving? Camping? Those sort of
things

My suggestion would be to fly into Cancun to get the best
airfare and connection. It's very touristy, but the
beaches are fabulous. Look around, beach, then I'd head
north to Isla Mujerus. Very laid back, nice beaches and
    not too expensive.
Then I'd bus south to Playa del Carmen, look around and
take the ferry to Cozumel. Stay here and book your diving
trip from any of the several dive shops there.
Then I'd bus to Chichen Itza and stay overnight at Piste.
Tour the Mayan ruins, see the sound and light show at night.
Then on to Uxmal and the Mayan ruins there. Fabulous sound
and light show here. Transportation at night out is tricky,
so be sure and line it up when you arrive or book a room.
Then bus on to Merida. Look around this old colonial city.
Hope others with give you some more suggestions.
    Have a great trip.

Agree w/ above. Start with something easy like Cancun or
Aculp. You'll be surprised by the friendliness and will
    venture further in. Have fun.
