I didn't visit the pacific side of Guatemala, because it
didn't sound so great - flat lands, black beaches, 40
degrees and lots of sunbaked pineapple plantations. And I
didn't hear anything about surfing on the carribean side.
Guatemala is more about Mayan culture, mountains and
Spanish colonial archetecture than beach in my experience -
but I'm not a surfer.
There is virtually no surf on the Atlantic side. The
Pacific beaches drop off pretty steep so the waves break
close in. The breaks are big but they are too even and its
hard to get out past the waves without being lucky or a
hero.El Salvador however has some very good places to surf
and if you're going to be here in Guat awhile you'll end up
there for sure.
Thanx for all your guys/or galls help!
