Hey Everyone!
We are four Norwegian boys travelling to Mexico for 4-5 weeks in July/August. We would bee grateful for any information, especially concerning;
- We don't speak any Spanish. Is that a huge problem?
- Enjoyable places.
- Places to go if we look for "fun & sun" (not all too commercial), given our language limitation.
Thanks!
Geir

Purchase the above guide; it is most definitive, and will give you enough Spanish to get by. Si-No. Bueno dias. Pour favor. Senor-Senorita-Senora. Donde esta los banos? Gracias! Make an effort and they will love you for it!

It is fashionable right now to hang out on the beaches of Eastern Yucatan, Cancun and South, and visit the various ruins in the Yucatan. It will be very hot there.

Mexico City should not be missed; you will find much nicer weather here in the Central Plateau. Really, there are no places in Mexico that are not worth seeing. Ride the busses and you will experience a delightful bunch of people; travel for economy and you will miss the tourists.

cancun called playa del carmen... right across the way from

  3. Eat a mango Added by: crystal (crystalhendrix@hotmail.com)

I lived in Mexico for two years and I ate a mango every day
when they were in season. They are the best. Good places
in Central Mex are: Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende,
Puebla...Spend some time in Mexico City. You'll be
overwhelmed by the size and amount of people. No matter
what cities you visit, be sure to check out the local
markets where the local people buy their fruits and
vegetables. That is one of the things I miss the most
about Mexico. Zihuatanejo is a great beach on the Pacific,
about 8 hours from Mexico City by bus. Have fun! Mexico
    is magical!

Hi! Last year my husband & I travelled through Nthn
Mexico and enjoyed. The highlight would have to be the
train trip through the Copper Canyon from Creel to Los
Mochis on the West Coast - this trip can be done in
reverse. We did not travel 1st class & was fine, but do
take food & drink with you. Mexico City, despite its filth
and smog is a wonderful city. The local bus trip out to
Titihuacan ruins is cheap & very worthwhile. ATM's are
available in larger cities. Accommodation at Creel in
'Margarita's' is not cheap but very, very good and the food
    is great.!

You can get an electronic dictionary for about $25 in office
supply stores. Great because locals can put in Spanish and
translate or you can put in your language and translate.
