Hi !
Well, in less than six weeks, my first big travel (and
solo ...) in Central America (CR and Panama mainly) and on
budget. But I've got a question : When you go to the
beach, is it safe to leave passport, Visa card, etc ... at
the hostel or do you take them with you (if so, what do you
do if you want to swim ??) ?
Thanks !

  1. Waterproof Packs Added by: Carron in Chiapas
[Timestamp: Sun 16 May, 23:59 Tasmanian Standard Time]

My teenage daughters went to the beaches in Chiapas over
this past Semana Santa. Especially here it is necessary to
have your documents with you at all times. They bought
small plastic back packs in bright colors which looked
similar to the plastic bubble material used to ship fragile
packages. The zippers were waterproof as well. They said
these were being sold everywhere and they worked without a
problem. The girls simply wore them swimming and used them
as a mini beach pillow while sunbathing. Perhaps you may
find something similar where you are going. Enjoy your
    trip!!

  2. passports Added by: norm

When I went to the american embassy in costa rica last year to get some more pages I listened to a bunch of stories about stolen passports...they were stolen from hotel rooms, buses, pickpockets...no end to it. No place is foolproof.
